1988 to 2007 Dodge, Ram and Jeep vehicles fitted with the small case transmissions such as the A500, 40RH, 42RH, 40RE, 42RE, 44RE or with the big case transmission such as the A518, 46RH, 46RE, A618, 47RH, 47RE and 48RE automatic transmission with high mileage often have a worn out throttle valve bore in the valve body.
The throttle valve (TV) function is to send TV pressure to the boost valve according to the position of the TV cable/lever or TTVA motor. The TV pressure signal is used to regulate line pressure based on vehicle load requirements to ensure the pressure value is correct for a given load. Likewise, if the line pressure is too low, the clutch elements and the TCC clutch will have inadequate clamping force allowing them to slip and burn.
Features and benefits:
The TransGo drop-in USA-made hardened steel TV valve has a re-positioned longer outboard land. As a result, this new valve is a fix even with substantial bore wear. This will fix the worn valve bodies with the common wear at the area where the outboard land rides.
Corrects/Prevents/Reduces:
Soft shifts as well as burnt friction elements
Lazy or erratic pressure rise
TCC slip
Includes:
USA-made hardened steel throttle valve
White spring for normal use
Silver spring for later throttle-on shifts
