Pressure Switch Repair Kit
2006-on 6L45, 6L50, 6L80, 6L90 and GEN1 6T70, 6T75

2006 and later General Motors and BMW vehicles equipped with 6L45, 6L50, 6L80, 6L90 or GEN1 6T70 and 6T75 automatic transmissions often come in with damaged oil pressure switch diaphragms.

These five diaphragms are referred to as “TFP” or transmission fluid pressure switches and they are located within the TEHCM. The computer uses these switches to fine tune the clutch-to-clutch shift sequencing and to maintain shift adaption values. The diaphragms can become compromised due to contamination after a hard part failure within the unit.

The diaphragms can also rupture or split, and the rubber seal that retains them can blow out. As a result, compromised switch function can lead to shift sequencing complaints such as shift flares, rough shifts or missing gears. Shift pressure control solenoid codes such as stuck on or stuck off and or TFP pressure switch codes can occur as well. Consequently, depending on which code(s) it trips, the transmission might even go into fail-safe mode.

Features and benefits:

The oil pressure diaphragms are not serviceable separately by the manufacture, they only sell the complete TEHCM. Adding insult to injury, the replacement TEHCM will need to be programmed once the valve body is re-installed or the transmission is back in the vehicle. This of course adds to the already high part cost of the repair or overhaul. The TransGo pressure switch repair kit provides you with all the components needed to repair and salvage an otherwise perfectly good TEHCM.
